| Peugeot Speedfight 100 The good value Peugeot Speedfight 100 impressed our testers: it had only a
two stroke 100cc engine, but it performed well compared with the 125cc models.
It accelerated to 40mph in under ten seconds, beating the
bigger bikes, and had a reasonable top speed, too. It had good brakes and a stylish
appearance.
It also had good security - it was one of the few bikes with an electronic immobiliser.
However, some riders found the Speedfight 100 unstable at low speeds, and there was some
vibration through the handlebars.

Italjet Torpedo 125 4T
The Italjet got the highest total test score of the bikes tested, had as it's strengths a
comfortable seat, smooth engine, good 0 - to - 40 mph acceleration as well as impressive
fuel consumption.
However like many other bikes, stowage areas were limited - the
lockable stowage compartment could not take a helmet - and security was weak.
The retro styling won the praise of many of our testers, too, though one minor quibble was
the mirrors, which gave a limited rear view. |
