 Despite the high-tech
engineering, the F125LC is extremely easy to ride.
In common with modern automatic scooter design, the main controls are the
throttle and the brakes. Riding on classic Italian five spoke cast alloy wheels and
specially developed Michelin tyres, traction and grip are truly exceptional. Progressive
stopping power is provided by 175mm hydraulic disc brakes front and rear.
Other F125LC specifications include lockable under-seat storage for a full face
helmet, glove box, retractable passenger footrests, race-style fuel filler, side stand,
main parking stand, full instrumentation, tell-tale warning lights for all main functions
and a 150cm Xena cable lock.

Beneath the Formula F125LCs aggressively beautiful and
purposeful styling beats the worlds only twin-cylinder scooter engine.
This free-revving, liquid-cooled, two-stroke motor has a smoother power delivery and
better torque characteristics than the single-cylinder engines found in all other
scooters. Its perfectly balanced, in-line layout is virtually free of vibration throughout
the rev range. Peak power is produced at 7500rpm and peak torque is reached at 7000rpm. But
one of the unique characteristics of this motor is that 80% of maximum torque is generated
at only 4000rpm meaning that there is plenty of mid-range response for positive and
predictable overtaking.
Driving through centrifugal automatic transmission, the new powerplant gives the F125LC
class-leading acceleration.
Throttle response is progressive from take-off right through the rev range to its top
speed of 80mph.
To ensure precise handling in urban conditions as well as an exceptionally stable ride at
motorway speeds, Italjets independent steering system (SIS) has been mated with
hydro-pneumatic suspension that is rider-adjustable for spring pre-load to suit individual
riding styles, carrying weight and road conditions. |
